Flexibility is the power that designers bestow upon users of spaces. And then the problem should be how we can crystallize the flexibilities. How can we really make our city be reborn as it evolves? In which condition should the space be injected with more possibilities- in the beginning of designing, after being totally exploited, or during its everyday life?
Creating a new space that can be adjusted in corresponded to its evolution is giving a lifelong guarantee to the city. It contains both present and future social context in terms of spatial language. Only when considering possible movement and gesture of human body and the latent development of society, flexibility could be shaped in a proper way. When it comes to refine the old and abandoned space, how should we really give it a second life - simply by putting into more movable objects to redefine activities? Lightweight, mobile, easy-to-mount can lead to much more possibilities, which might also result in mental instability. Space in occupation also needs stimulation to renew. That is, to make interference and bring happiness to both current users and new participants simultaneously.
In whichever way mentioned above, the ultimate goal is creating a space that really belongs to our unpredictable users.
